Transparency
Representative Christine Chandler believes that full transparency of Capital Outlay appropriations is critical. That's why she has always published her capital outlay allocations since being elected to the NM House. The NM Legislature passed - and the Governor - signed HB55 in the 2021 Legislative Session to require the full transparency and publication of all capital outlay appropriations by all State Senators and Representatives. Rep. Chandler proudly voted YES for this bill.
2026 Capital Outlay
Each NM Representative was allocated $2.5 million in the 2026 Legislative Session to appropriate to capital outlay projects. While there were many worthwhile projects submitted to the Legislative Council Service for Representative Chandler's consideration, the Representative placed priority on public safety projects, infrastructure improvements, educational facilities, and affordable housing projects.
Please note that many of these projects also receive allocations from other State Senators & Representatives (as well as other funding agencies) to complete and fully fund their projects.
