New Mexico House District 43 encompasses all of Los Alamos County and areas in Sandoval, and Santa Fe Counties.
It hosts one of the largest employers in the state, Los Alamos National Laboratory, an internationally recognized scientific and national security institution whose origins date back to the Manhattan Project. The district includes the charming village of Jemez Springs, the historic communities of La Cienega and Pena Blanca.
The district is large and diverse, presenting a wide range of issues: rural economic development, broadband connectivity and sustainable
infrastructure, rural health care, and environmental clean-up and safety, and educational adequacy. Historic acequias and land grants play a
prominent role in the district. Science looms large over the Pajarito Plateau. The magnificent Valle Caldera and its vast national forest areas offer
unique recreational opportunities for its residents and visitors.
Chris is honored to represent District 43’s wonderful residents.
